The project aims to strengthen strategic alliances with NSBs to develop, implement and advocate standards with the objective of strengthening quality culture in Bolivia.
IBNORCA (Instituto Boliviano de Normalización y Calidad) is a private non-profit organization, founded on May 5th, 1993. IBNORCA seeks the welfare of society, contributes to improving the competitiveness, productivity and management of organizations through standardization activities, conformity assessment and human resource training.
Through the Bolivian Quality Infrastructure, SNMAC (Standardization, Metrology, Accreditation and Certification System), IBNORCA is responsible for two fundamental pillars: Technical Standardization and Quality Certification.
IBNORCA is full member of ISO, member of the Panamerican Standards Commission (COPANT) and of the Mercosur Standardization Association (AMN). It also participates in the activities of the Andean Committee for Standardization (CAN) and represents Bolivia in the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
IBNORCA has among its priorities to reinforce the importance of standardization as a fundamental aspect in the sustainable development of Bolivia; improve the use of standards for academy and investigation research; contribute to the strengthening of the quality culture in the national industry supporting SMEs; promote digital transformation and strengthen the internationalization of its activities.
